Have you ever written a job application? You’re meant to tell them about yourself. When I do this, I stare blankly at the screen for a little bit. Then I go and read a book, because it’s just too hard. But eventually I sit back down and write it and I have so much fun.

Because, most of the time, you can’t tell people how awesome you are. They don’t care. The best stories to tell people are about the time you screwed up and did something hilarious. People like to hear these stories; it gives them something to talk about in their next conversation.

But in a job application, that little part of you that would really like to tell everyone how awesome you are is allowed to do so.

I have a point, I promise.

And my point is that in those job applications, I always write “I love learning”. And it’s true. That’s why I’m at university in the first place – to keep on finding out new things and trying out new skills.

The purpose of this blog is to share some of those things with you. Expect posts on student life, books, cooking and science.
